In the Name of Life
Above all, the pursuit of beauty is the defining impetus for my work.
But my project is not simply to create art for art’s sake.
These articles that follow are meant to help define this digital landscape as well as the world it seeks to illuminate, distort and obliterate. Moreover, they will aid in mapping the progress—or lack thereof—of that obscure creature known as the “self,” or “me” as I wander the imaginary terrain. But there will also be obstacles. Recurring mazes, both literal and metaphoric, will appear throughout, each specifically designed to ensnare animals that resemble me. Indeed, the creative process itself is the vehicle that I choose to differentiate who I am from the world at large.
